Domaine Michel Voarick is a four-generation family estate committed to traditional, non-interventionist viticulture. The current winemaker, Victor Voarick, aims to express the unique terroir of his vineyards, which lie near the prestigious Corton hill. The 2022 vintage across Burgundy was excellent, providing good volume and high quality. The growing season was smooth, with growers successfully navigating some early spring frost. When young, the wine offers vibrant notes of citrus, such as lemon and lime, alongside white flower aromas. With age, the flavors evolve into more complex notes of honey, spices, and toasted almonds. Though Pernand-Vergelesses may not have the name recognition of some of its neighboring appellations, it offers excellent quality and good value, especially for those seeking an authentic expression of Burgundian Chardonnay. It is an elegant and balanced wine, with a delicate minerality that reflects its Pernand-Vergelesses terroir. It is enjoyable when young for its fresh fruit flavors, but also has the structure to age gracefully and develop more mature, savory characteristics.
